Hemorrhoids
Symptoms of a hemorrhoid can include pain, bleeding, or swelling in the lower portion of the rectum or anus. Hemorrhoids are very common, and result from increased pressure in the veins of the anus, which causes the veins to swell painfully. Common causes of hemorrhoids include straining during bowel movements, constipation, sitting for long periods of time, and anal infections. Hemorrhoids may occur either inside or outside of the body.
There are many treatments for hemorrhoids that include the application of medicines, rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy, coagulation, mucosal resection and traditional hemorrhoidectomy. During a consultation, we explain your treatment options and provide you with the decision tools to determine the best possible treatment for you. We then provide you with treatment and monitor you throughout your recovery.
