Inflammatory Bowel Disease
The main forms of inflammatory bowel disease are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Inflammatory bowel disease occurs when the inner lining of the intestines becomes inflamed, and may include the following symptoms: abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and severe internal cramps.
We work closely with gastroenterologists to treat patients with inflammatory bowel disease when surgery is indicated. When a surgical consultation is needed, we help our patients develop a clear understanding of the appropriate surgical options for them and assist them in making the best possible decisions about their care.
